Optional Overdraft Protection Service & Optional Overdraft Protection Service Plus also known as “OOPS & OOPS Plus”

From time to time we all have experienced that moment when the balance in our checking account is less than we thought. Perhaps you forgot to record a check, made an error in subtraction, forgot to transfer funds to pay your bills or just lost track of the balance. Having a check returned due to insufficient funds can be costly, inconvenient and potentially an embarrassing experience. At New Peoples Bank we don’t encourage overdrafts; we encourage you to manage your finances responsibly. However, we want to save you from the additional merchant fees and possible damage to your credit history that might result if a check is returned. That’s why we are pleased to offer you our Optional Overdraft Protection Service, or “OOPS”.

Included Services of “OOPS”

We understand that mistakes happen. When they do, we strive to pay your overdrafts on the following types of transactions:

• Checks
• Automatic bill payments
• Telephone-initiated transfers or other electronic transfers
• Preauthorized automatic debits

Included Services of “OOPS Plus”

"OOPS Plus" includes all service included with "OOPS" as well as:

• ATM transactions
• Every day (one time) debit card transactions

You earn points every time you sign for your purchases and additional points for shopping at participating retailers, whether it’s in-store at national or local retailers or online through uChoose^® Rewards. When shopping in-store, select credit and sign for your purchases.

Where can I earn points?

What can I redeem my points for?

It’s your choice! You can choose from millions of options, whether it’s products, travel experiences, activities, event tickets, or more! We keep track of all the points you earn and will help you find just what you’re looking for when you’re ready to redeem. We even have a Wish List that will help you track when you’ve earned enough to redeem a specific item.

Can I share points with family members?

Yes, all cards within an account automatically earn points together.

How much does it cost to participate?

There’s no cost. Membership in UChoose^® Rewards is absolutely free for New Peoples Bank cardholders, so start shopping and earning today.

Safe Deposit Boxes

All New Peoples Bank full service branches have safe deposit boxes* for rent. Enjoy the safety and convenience of keeping your important papers and belongings in one of our safe deposit boxes. Rent is due annually and can either be billed, or automatically charged to your checking or savings account.
